Koru Group Australia Pty Ltd is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage your Personal Data and Sensitive Information. In this Policy, we use the terms, “we”, “us”, “our” or “Koru Group” to refer to Koru Group Australia Pty Ltd and its related companies.
At Koru Group we are committed to protecting your privacy as a customer or user of our App or website. We use the information we collect about you to maximize the services that we provide to you .
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.
What is Personal Data?
Personal Data is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Data we collect include: names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and places of work.

Sensitive Information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
How we collect your Personal Data and Sensitive Information
We receive and store Personal Information you enter through our App, our website or provide us in any other way. You may provide basic contact information such as your name, phone number, street address, and email address to enable us to send you information, provide you with access to a service or process payment for an upgraded service. You may also provide us with Sensitive Information such as membership details when creating or entering services within our App or uploading attachments into our App.
We may also collect Personal Information at other times, including but not limited to, when you provide feedback, change your preferences, respond to a survey, or communicate with Koru Group customer support. We may also collect information about your use of the App, login information, data storage and other similar information for the purpose of improving our services.
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in some circumstances we may be provided with information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party.
How we use your Personal Information
We use Personal Information collected from you for the purpose of verifying your identity and providing you with the services that you have registered for.
We may also use Personal Information collected from you for the purpose of providing you with direct marketing material, updates regarding our App or website and information in the form of a newsletter. This will only apply if you have registered or subscribed to such publications by your registering your details with us. However, if you wish to cease receiving any such information you may let us know either by email or mail and your request will be actioned as soon as possible.
Any non-personal information, communications and material you send to our website, social media sites or by email, or which we obtain from third parties without promises of confidentiality, may be kept, used and disclosed by us on a non-confidential basis. We are free to use and reproduce any such information freely, and for any purpose whatsoever. Specifically, we will be free to use any ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques contained in such information for any purpose, including developing, manufacturing or marketing products.
At no time will we sell, rent or share your Personal Information with any third parties for marketing or similar purposes, without your express consent or unless required by law.
How we store and secure your Personal Information
Koru Group strives to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of Personal Information submitted to our App and website, and we periodically update our security measures in light of current technologies.
Credit card information and Paypal credentials are not stored by us or accessible to us. Such information is encrypted and processed by approved third parties.
We do not keep your Personal Information when you terminate your use of the App and our services. We periodically purge data to ensure any outdated information that may personally identify you is wiped from our database. Personal Information is kept no longer than 12 months after you terminate your use of the App and can be deleted immediately upon request.
Sharing of your Personal Information with third parties
Koru Group does not and will not sell or deal in Personal Information. We will never disclose your Personal Information to a third party, except the necessary information required by providers of products or services you have purchased or to protect the rights, property or safety of Koru Group, its customers or third parties or if required by law.
Each of the third parties that we contract with is carefully selected and is only authorised to use your Personal Information in a secure way that’s necessary for them to perform their service to us. Some of our service providers and third parties that we share information with may be located outside of Australia, in the United States, Singapore, India, the Philippines, New Zealand and other countries.
We may use Google and/or other third-party service providers to serve ads on our behalf across the Internet and sometimes on our website or App. They may collect anonymous information about your use of our App or visits to our website and your interaction with our products and services. They may also use this information to provide more relevant advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.
Disclosure of your Personal Information
We may from time to time need to disclose certain information, which may include your Personal Information, to comply with a legal requirement or in response to a law enforcement agency request. Also, Koru Group may use your Personal Information to protect the rights, property or safety of Koru Group, its customers or third parties.
If there is a change of control in one of our businesses (whether by merger, sale, or otherwise), or a sale or transfer of its assets, customer information, which may include your Personal Information, could be disclosed to a potential purchaser under an agreement to maintain confidentiality, or could be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. We would only disclose your Personal Information in good faith and where required by any of the above circumstances.
